Ride Safety
Ride Safety Is No Joke to the Department Of Labor, Licensing and Regulation
Rides at the 2011 Upper South Carolina State Fair are not just fun and games to the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
Before PLAYWORLD AMUSEMENT RIDES at the UPPER SOUTH CAROLINA STATE FAIR throw the switch and welcome tens of thousands of customers for the 48th annual Upstate Classic, inspectors from the Office of Elevator and Amusement Rides division of the SCLLR have already visited each individual ride. Inspectors are ready to keep their commitment to ride safety. Inspectors are also on the grounds before the fair opens to inspect rides as they are put together. Rides are not allowed to operate until they meet the safety guidelines set by the department. During an inspection, each ride's hydraulic and electrical systems are checked. Additionally, ride operators are required to perform daily inspections on rides and post the results. SCLLR inspectors require specific guidelines provided by ride manufacturers.
Inspectors are on the job throughout the state each year, doing their job to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the fair going public.
